Our Team

Owners of the Estate

Thierry Hellin & Sophie Barcella

An entrepreneur from Burgundy, Thierry Hellin and his wife Sophie Barcella from the Champagne region are both passionate about wine and techniques of winegrowing. Together, they have observed a consumption trend focussed more and more towards a "return to the source". The current trend is increasingly to reduce meat consumption and to consume healthier products with more natural and traditional production processes. This is just the beginning of a beautiful adventure for them, a story intertwined with a vineyard which has started to rediscover its own history. It is exactly this history that attracted Thierry and Sophie to the place, a history and a future that makes this vineyard so unique.

Head of Operations

Raphael Baudin

Raphael is the "plant man" of our vineyard. The soil in which our vines grow has no secrets for him. He has a genuine ecological awareness and respect for nature. Raphael has spent a lot of time sharing his knowledge and know-how with young people during his mission as a horticultural teacher at the CFA. Precise, rigorous and consistent over time, he is the plant specialist we needed to take care of our vines.

Head of Plantations

Gilbert Burtin

Gilbert is one of the pillars of the estate. Passionate about the wine world, immersed in the culture of the vine for over 15 years, Gilbert is happy to pass on his know-how to new recruits in the estate. Three words characterize him perfectly: Consistent, Rigorous and Methodical.

Former winemaker-owner

Jean-Claude Berthillot

Jean-Claude has built this estate with body and soul, for 30 years. His know-how and knowledge are essential to us in the evolution of the work already accomplished. His authentic talent as a winemaker is extremely precious to us and helps us to acquire little by little his knowledge and experience, which we pass on to our new team. Jean-Claude has a real local legitimacy and continues to represent the profession at Thierry's side for the IGP Vins de Saône et Loire.
